The goal is to ensure the provision of water supply at the Household level by Taps or through stand posts. If that is not possible, water accessibility shall be provided through Ground Level Reservoir with taps.
Integrated Faecal Sludge & Septage Management (FSSM) Project Faecal Sludge & Septage Management Ongoing Tamil Nadu and Kerala Viega Foundation The project commences in 2023 and will be focused on septage management in selected southern districts of Tamil Nadu & Kerala. Project focuses on the reduction of untreated faecal sludge into open lands or water bodies. The project envisages to serve poor and marginalized households by providing them desludging and treatment services through Mobile septage Treatment Unit (MTU), an innovation by WASH Institute. It also aims to create a pool of trained sanitation workers who can not only safely manage their daily works, but also undertake first aid along with responding effectively to any emergency situation to rescue fellow sanitation workers and desludging operators.

Also, the project aims to build capacities of SMCs, Child Cabinet Committees, WATSAN Committees etc. for establishing school and community owned Operations & Maintenance Systems.

It aims to enable schools access to improved WASH facilities including child, gender and disabled friendly school toilets. The project also promotes improved hygiene behaviour through various awareness generation activities in schools. The Project aims to establish school owned and managed robust Operation & Maintenance system for long term sustainability of WASH services in the intervened schools.

Promotion of SwachhVidyalaya&Swachh Villages Implementation - School WASH &Household Sanitation Ongoing Malur, Karnataka ITC Limited This project initiated in the year 2018, focuses on provision of access to child, gender and disability friendly water and sanitation services within school premises along with promotion of improved hygiene behaviour & capacity building at school level so that O&M can be taken care of by the school.

Along with the above, the project also encompasses generating demand for toilets by undertaking Behaviour change activities.
Promotion of SwachhVidyalaya&Swachh Villages Implementation - School WASH & Community Sanitation Ongoing Munger, Bihar ITC Limited This project commenced in the year 2016 has focused on building WASH related infrastructure and hygiene promotion activities in select schools and communities of Munger district, Bihar. The project promotes school owned & managed system of operation and maintenance of WASH facilities and instil improved hygiene practices among the students. The project has an innovative concept of "cleaner on wheels" that employs local cleaners for maintaining cleanliness in the target schools.
Promotion of Integrated Water Supply, Sanitation & Hygiene in schools and communities Implementation - Household Sanitation & School WASH Ongoing Bhadrachalam, Telangana ITC Limited This project initiated in the year 2016, focuses on promoting sanitation &instilling hygiene behaviour change amongst school students, construction of individual household latrines in community, BCC activities in communities and construction of school infrastructure. I. Madurai, Tamil Nadu : The project was initiated in the year 2016, and has since been promoting comprehensive Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programs in schools and communities.The project enables access to household sanitation and safe drinking water to the marginalized communities by constructing household ferrocement modular toilets and installing drinking water systems.

Implementation - Integrated Community and Public Institution Drinking Water and Sanitation Project Completed Thiruppullani, Tamil Nadu National Stock Exchange Foundation The project commenced in the year 2019 and continued till 2022. It focused on creation and restoration of water infrastructure including rejuvenation of traditional water bodies in the Thiruppullani block. Promotion of ODF Slums and School WASH in NOIDA Implementation - School WASH & Community Sanitation Completed Noida, Uttar Pradesh HCL Foundation, NOIDA Authority The project commenced in the year 2016 and continued till 2022. The project aimed to enable communities and schools to have access to improved sanitation and safe drinking water facilities. The project also promoted improved hygiene behavior and undertook convergence with the relevant key stakeholders for smooth project implementation.
Promotion of Swachh and Swasth Hindaun block of Karauli district in Rajasthan. Community Water & Sanitation Public Institutions WASH Completed Rajasthan National Stock Exchange Foundation (NSEF) The project commenced in 2020 and continued till 2022. Under this project schools, Anganwadis, Public health center, and communities were enabled access to improved water and sanitation facilities. 497 Households in the block were facilitated for IHHL and awareness was generated on the importance of usage of toilets. Emphasis has been put to inculcate good hygiene practices through various behavioural change interventions such as video shows, puppet shows, nukkad natak, quiz, and drawing competitions to improve the overall health of beneficiaries. The project also focussed on the formation and capacity building of Child cabinets, School Management Committee, Water & Sanitation (WATSAN) committees, and other relevant stakeholders to encourage them to own and manage newly built WASH infrastructure.
Support Project Implementation for Social and Communication Activities (for multi-village surface water projects in Punjab in Gurdaspur & Amritsar, Punjab Awareness and Behaviour Change Completed Amritsar, Gurdaspur- Punjab International Bank for Reconstruction and Development The project commenced in the year 2020 in collaboration with Department of Water Supply & Sanitation, Punjab in 152 villages, and continued till 2022. The objective of the project was to achieve higher service delivery level by accelerating the social engagement by carrying out community mobilization activities at the village level. The project focused on generating awareness through various IEC/BCC activities, strengthening local institutions and groups, building their skills & capacities, linking them with financial institutions, and carrying out extensive monitoring and documentation.

Swachh Dindigul Implementation - Household Sanitation Completed Dindigul,Tamil Nadu Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Dindigul Municipal Corporation The project commenced in the year 2018 and continued till 2019. It was focussed on promoting household sanitation and behaviour change practices in the communities of Dindigul Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu. The project built capacities of the sanitation workers of the Corporation. As part of the project, a total of 750 household ferrocement modular and toilets were provided to the target households and enabled access to safe and hygienic household sanitation.
Swachh Madurai – A Drive to Eradicate Open Defecation in Madurai Corporation Area Implementation - Household Sanitation Completed Madurai, Tamil Nadu Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Madurai Municipal Corporation The project was initiated in the year 2018 and continued till 2019. It was focussed on promoting Sanitation and Hygiene programmes in the communities of Madurai district of Tamil Nadu. This included construction of 650 household ferrocement modular toilets and brick-built toilets along with conducting WASH-related awareness generation and behavior change activities.
Swachh Salem – A drive to eradicate open Defecation in Salem Corporation Area Implementation - Household Sanitation Project Completed Salem Corporation, Tamil Nadu Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Salem Municipal Corporation The project commenced in the year 2018 and continued till 2019. The project focused on eradication of Open Defecation practices by providing community members access to household sanitation. 600 household ferrocement modular toilets and brick-built toilets were constructed and community members were sensitized on toilet usage through awareness generation activities to promote improved sanitation and hygiene behaviour amongst the community members.
Nirmal Sankalp Implementation - Community Sanitation Completed Titagarh, West Bengal CESC Limited The project commenced in the year 2016 and continued till 2019. The project aimed at transforming the wards of Titagarh municipality into Open Defecation Free (ODF). Gender, child and person with disability-friendly community toilet blocks were constructed under this project which helped marginalized urban communities get access to improved sanitation and stop open defecation. The project also demonstrated unique O & M model which aided in ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Community toilets. The Project also undertook activities which brought sustained behavioral changes among the community members regarding improved sanitary and hygiene practices.
IEC & Follow up Activities in Vattavada Gram Panchayat, Idukki District to achieve Kerala as Nirmal Rajya Behaviour Change and Capacity Building Completed Vattavada, Idukki District, Kerala Suchitwa Mission, Government of Kerala This project duration was from 2012-2013, it was aimed to bring behavioural changes in the community. This was carried out by organizing IEC campaign- Door to Door canvassing, Group meetings, Formation of Village WATSAN committees, School WASH Program, Children rally, Technical Support for construction of IHHL, mobilizing subsidy for IHHL construction.
